Martina’s Spicy Tuna Tartare

Equipment Needed


cutting board

small mixing bowl

grater (microplane or knife)




5 oz ahi tuna, sliced or cubed 

1 tsp grated ginger

1/4 cup cucumber, small dice

1 lime, juiced

1/2 jalapeno, small dice

1 tsp rice vinegar

1 tsp coconut sugar

1/4 tsp sesame oil

2 tsp soy sauce

2 tsp Martina’s Aguachile

1 tsp water

cilantro, garnish

black and white sesame seeds, garnish 




Step 1: In a small to medium bowl combined the ginger, cucumber, lime juice, jalapeno, rice vinegar, coconut sugar, sesame oil, soy sauce, water and Martina’s Aguachile. Combined harmoniously and set aside.

If serving sliced as a crudo or sashimi, simply spoon over the sauce and garnish with cilantro and sesame seeds. If serving like a poke or tartare combine the sauce with the fish in a small bowl and gently mix together. Serve in your desired dish draining any excess sauce. Garnish with cilantro and sesame seeds and enjoy!
