Martina’s Spicy Nacho Cheese Sauce
Active Cook Time
2 tbsp butter
2 tbsp flour
1 cup organic whole milk
6-8 oz. smoked cheddar, shredded (about 1.5 cups)
1/4 tsp chili powder
1 garlic clove, minced
1 tbsp Martina’s Hot Sauce
Step 1: Add the butter and flour to a small sauce pot. Heat and whisk the butter and flour together until they become harmonious. This will need to cook on medium heat for about 5 minutes until you smell the cooked flour.
Step 2: Next, add in the minced garlic then whisk the milk into the flour and butter mixture. When it reaches a simmer, the mixture will thicken enough to nicely coat the back of a spoon. Now turn off the heat.
Step 3: Gradually add in the smoked cheddar cheese, gently whisk until it is melted into the sauce. If needed, place the pot over a low flame to help the cheese melt easier.
Step 4: Once all the cheese is incorporated and smooth, add in Martina’s Hot Sauce and chili powder. Season now with Salt to your liking. If sauce seems too thick, add in milk 1 tbsp at a time to adjust consistency. If not thick enough add in some more cheese 2 tbsp at a time.
Step 5: Pour over your favorite nachos!!! Garnish some chips with your favorite nacho toppings and spoon over some of this Martina’s Spicy Nacho Cheese Sauce and Enjoy!
